Another solid Ombak Bali Surf Film Festival at Canggu's The Lawn

The 11th edition dove straight into board-riding cultures around the world, exploring personal stories, final frontiers and epic waves with those who share a love for all things wet and salty.

The OmbakBali crew searched far and wide to find the most incredible, awe-inspiring films of the genre, films that go beyond the waves and show how surfing can inspire, and drive change - whether it be personal, social or environmental. With climate change and plastic pollution on everyone's minds, this year's line-up had a special focus on the environment and saving our precious oceans with films like 'Rumah Kita' with Sumbawan pro-surfer Dedi Gun. Other headliners were 'Trouble, the Lisa Anderson Story' and 'White Rhino'.

Eleven years since staging the 1st festival, OmbakBali is still chasing that magical feeling. Out in the water we choose our waves as we skirt along the edges of our limits, hesitating a little less, committing a little more. This year's films remind us that, for many, surfing is so much more than a sport - it's a journey, a connection, a devotion. Whatever surfing means to you, we hope that our film selections bring you a little closer to the magic.

See you at the 12th edition in September 2020
